KUCHING, Aug 31: Sarawak’s advanced policies on environmental sustainability and green economic initiatives have garnered significant attention at the Asean Australia Business Forum 2024, according to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
During his keynote address at the forum, Abang Johari showcased Sarawak’s vision for a green economy, which was met with positive feedback from the attendees, comprising both corporate and government representatives.
“Based on the feedback I received from the forum attendees, who consist of corporate and government personnel, they are impressed with Sarawak’s policies that are too advanced in the new economic approach,” Abang Johari shared during the National Day celebration in Sibu, which was streamed live via Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) Facebook page today.
He further added that several attendees expressed their interest in visiting Sarawak to witness firsthand the implementation of these policies, particularly those related to environmental sustainability and the adoption of new green energy solutions.
On Aug 29, Abang Johari delivered his keynote address titled “The Powerhouse of Green Economy in Asean” at the Asean Australia Business Forum 2024, held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia.
During the event, he also participated in a panel discussion on “Energy Transition and Green Economy” alongside other distinguished speakers. — DayakDaily
