Sarawak’s Covid-19 cases down slightly to 1,061 today

KUCHING, Oct 14: Sarawak’s daily Covid-19 caseload decreased slightly to 1,061 cases today from 1,165 cases recorded yesterday.

According to a report on the update of the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), 1.89 per cent or 20 cases out of 1,061 cases were in Category 3, 4 and 5 while the balance of 98.11 per cent or 1,041 cases were in Category 1 and 2.

SDMC said six Covid-19 patients required breathing support while eight Covid-19 patients were intubated.

There were 721 Covid-19 patients who were having mild symptoms and 320 asymptomatic Covid-19 patients.

With the extra 1,061 Covid-19 cases reported in Sarawak, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the State has risen to 228,736.

On another note, 36 districts throughout the State reported new cases as compared to 39 districts yesterday.

The districts which reported triple-digits cases include Kuching with 278 new cases, Miri (235) and Sibu (155).

Districts which recorded double-digits cases were Bintulu with 56 new cases, Betong (37), Pusa (37), Serian (35), Limbang (28), Sri Aman (27), Saratok (19), Sarikei (14), Lawas (14), Subis (13), Kapit (12), Song (12), Bau (12) and Samarahan (11).

Areas that registered single-digit case include Belaga with six new cases, Mukah (5), Tebedu (5), Pakan (5), Kanowit (5), Marudi (5), Meradong (4), Sebauh (4), Lubok Antu (4), Simunjan (3), Lundu (3), Matu (3), Beluru (3), Bukit Mabong (3), Julau (2), Tatau (2), Selangau (1), Asajaya (1) and Kabong (1).

Four districts, namely Daro, Dalat, Telang Usan and Tanjung Manis reported zero Covid-19 cases. — DayakDaily
