KUCHING, Oct 21: Sarawak has spent RM5.6 billion, or 58 per cent of its RM9.7 billion allocation for 2026, on projects under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), with 86 projects completed to date.
Second Minister for Finance and New Economy Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the State has approved a total ceiling of RM52.5 billion to finance 1,203 projects under the 13MP.
These comprise 832 physical development projects and 371 non-physical initiatives, including grants, strategic investments and programmes.
“As 2026 marks the first year of the 13MP, implementation is still gaining momentum, with the pace of project delivery and expenditure expected to accelerate as more projects progress into full implementation over the remaining years of the Plan period,” he said when delivering his ministerial winding-up speech at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) sitting today.
Uggah said the remaining 1,117 projects were at various stages of implementation.
Meanwhile, under the First Rolling Plan (2026) of the 13MP, a total of 1,146 federally funded projects with an allocation of RM6 billion had been approved.
Of this amount, RM3.2 billion, or 53 per cent, had been spent to date.
He added that 256 projects had been completed, while the remaining 890 were at various stages of implementation. — DayakDaily
