Sarawakians travelling outstation need not apply for police permit

KUCHING, Aug 2: Sarawakians travelling outstation to Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Labuan do not need to apply for a permit from the police.

This information was disclosed by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement.


Nonetheless, the committee pointed out that those who need to travel inter-district within Sarawak are still required to obtain the written police permit from the nearest police station.

SDMC reiterated the control of movement for citizens is divided into two zones, Zone One and Two.

Zone One comprises Kuching, Samarahan and Serian districts while Zone Two comprises Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang. — DayakDaily
