KUCHING, Nov 8: Sarawakian teenage hockey goalkeeper Bill Wolfson Lianie had passed away due to brain haemorrhage on Nov 6.

The boy who studied at SMK Penrissen, was only 14-years-old at the time of his death.

According to Sarawak Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Bill’s passing is a great loss for Sarawak and the whole hockey community.

“However, God loves him more. There’s nothing much that we can do.

“Despite that, I hope Bill’s mother and his whole family will persevere in going through this time of grieving,” he said when paying his last respects to the late Bill at the latter’s residence in Kampung Mambong, Jalan Puncak Borneo here today.

At the time of Bill’s passing, he was in Ipoh, Perak for training under National Hockey Development Programme (NHDP).
