KUCHING, Jan 8: Twelve-year-old Kuching soloist Taylor Louise is set to make her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York on July 11, 2026, becoming the youngest Sarawakian to perform at the world-renowned concert venue.
Taylor earned the opportunity following a string of international achievements, including winning the Exceptional Young Talent Award during a performance in Paris in December 2025, as well as securing a top prize at the New York International Music Competition.
Widely regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious concert venues, Carnegie Hall has hosted leading musicians since its opening in 1891. Performing there is considered a significant milestone for artistes on the global stage.
Known for her versatility, Taylor performs across classical, pop, jazz and musical theatre, drawing praise for both her technical skill and expressive delivery.
“This is another important step in my journey. I’m deeply thankful to my parents for their love and support, to my coach and teachers for their guidance, and to everyone who encourages me.
“I also hope to receive financial assistance from the government and support from private sponsors to help make this dream a reality,” she said in a statement.
As she prepares for her Carnegie Hall debut, Taylor continues to inspire young musicians in Sarawak, highlighting the growing presence of Malaysian talent on the international music scene. – DayakDaily
