KUCHING, Aug 28: Sarawakian Hani Nur Zaihanirah Zaini has created history by becoming the first Malaysian woman elected to the Board of Directors of Toastmasters International, the world’s leading organisation dedicated to communication and leadership development.
According to a press release, Hani, who is also the group general manager of Faradale Holdings in Kuching, was elected to serve a two-year term from 2025 to 2027 during the Toastmasters International Convention held in Philadelphia, United States, from Aug 20 to 23.
Chosen through a rigorous global nomination process, she now joins an elite circle of leaders from around the world including representatives from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, India, Italy, Australia, China, the Middle East and Malaysia.
In her corporate career, Hani oversees strategic leadership, business growth, operational excellence, and stakeholder management at Faradale Holdings.
She is also actively involved in AZAM Sarawak, contributing to socio-economic development and youth empowerment initiatives in the State.
An alumna of University Technology Sarawak (UTS) with a degree in Architecture, she also holds certifications in digital marketing and professional training.
A Toastmaster since 2013, Hani is a member of AZAM Toastmasters Club and Vivid Voices Podcast Toastmasters. She has attained the Distinguished Toastmaster designation, the highest educational achievement in the organisation.
Reflecting on her journey, Hani described Toastmasters as “a door that leads to a version of yourself you never knew existed—more confident, more capable and more courageous.”
As a member of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, she will serve as a “working ambassador” for the organisation by helping to develop and guide policies and strategies that advance its mission worldwide.
Toastmasters International, headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, has more than 270,000 members in over 14,000 clubs across 150 countries. – DayakDaily
