Sarawakian Belle Sisoski’s song shortlisted among 7 finalists for Commonwealth Song Contest

KUCHING, May 21: Malaysian TikTok sensation Belle Sisoski is representing Malaysia for the Commonwealth Song Contest with her song ‘Stop Your Games’ was selected as one of the top seven grand finalists for the contest, out of 56 countries.

The 17-year-old Sarawakian who is based in Kuala Lumpur, had composed the song during the Covid-19 lockdown, capturing the raw, dark and complex emotions of the pandemic fallout.


As of May 20, at 11.30pm (GMT), Belle’s song representing Malaysia topped the contest followed by Saint Lucia in second place and Malta and Canada in joint third place.

Public voting is open until May 31 and will be followed by a closed round of voting by over 10,000 registered songwriters.

Belle rose to fame for her music content in TikTok where she showcases her talent in various musical instruments including piano, sape, violin, guzheng (traditional Chinese instrument), bass guitar and drums.

Under the TikTok handle @bellesisoski, she now has 819.3k followers and 11.7 million likes.

Her most played video was her cover of British singer Sam Smith’s ‘Unholy’ which has amassed over 14.4 million views. — DayakDaily
