Sarawak Youth Day 2023 enters Malaysia Book of Records with largest state flag made of beads

KUCHING, Dec 2: The Sarawak Youth Day 2023 celebration made it into the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) with the largest state flag made of beads.

Measuring 16×8 feet, it is the largest state flag made of 218,714 beads by 18 Kapit youth who spent 180 hours on it to celebrate the journey of entrepreneurs among Sarawakian youth.

Speaking to reporters during a press conference after officiating Sarawak Youth Day 2023, Minister for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak (Mysed) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the recognition is unique because it is the first to be done during Sarawak Youth Day.


“This is the first time and gives pride and uniqueness to our Youth Day this year,” he said.

The MBOR certificate was presented by MBOR senior consultant of record Siti Hajar Johor to the participants during Sarawak Youth Day 2023 in Kapit today.

The presentation ceremony was witnessed by Abdul Karim, Kapit MP Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, Mysed deputy ministers Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu and Dr Ripin Lamat, and other distinguished guests. — DayakDaily
