Sarawak Unity Futsal Tournament 2018 calling for entries

KUCHING, June 23: The state government is calling for entries for the Sarawak Unity Futsal Tournament 2018 which will be held in conjunction with the Sarawak Day celebrations on July 22.

It will be held at Padang Merdeka here from July 14-15. Mini concerts will also be staged during the evenings on both days.

The tournament is opened to those aged 18 years and above, and the players of each team must be from at least two different races to be eligible to participate.


Only 32 teams will be considered for the tournament; hence, interested teams must send in their entries early.

The winning team will get RM3,000 cash, first runner-up RM2,500, second runner-up RM1,500 and third runner-up RM1,000. All top winners will also receive trophies and medals.

This morning, the organising committee members, led by the State Protocol and Public Relations Unit director, Dato Khir Busrah, briefed the minister-in-charge of the July 22 celebrations, Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia. Dr Sim is also the Minister of Housing and Local Government.

Also in the delegation were event manager Zaki Zaidi and members of the different organising committees for other activities.
