Sarawak TYT and wife flag-off 1,000 participants in Girl Guides Run 2024

KUCHING, March 3: Sarawak Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, along with his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, who serves as the patron of the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia, Sarawak Branch, the flagged off participants in the Girl Guides Run 2024 this morning.

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) news report today, the event was held on the grounds of the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) headquarters and aimed to raise funds for the Sarawak Girl Guides Association’s annual activities such as training, camping, and renovating the Sarawak Girl Guides Association building.


“A total of 1,000 participants consisting of Pandu Puteri members, government office staff, and the general public took part in the running programme.

“In addition, the participants were able to win as many as 70 prizes worth a total of RM25,000 in the lucky draw event,” as reported by Ukas.

Also participating in the flag-off were Deputy Premier of Sarawak Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and his wife, the president of the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia, Sarawak Branch, Dato Dayang Morliah Awang Daud.

Also present were Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Sarawak Ministry of International Trade, Industry, and Investment advisor, Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, and MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng. — DayakDaily
