KUCHING, Dec 18: The Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) reminds the public that all its job vacancies are shared exclusively through its official channels, warning against unauthorised individuals circulating offers via WhatsApp or through unofficial channels.
In an announcement on its official Facebook, STB stressed that it has never appointed any individual or third party to offer employment opportunities to fill vacancies at STB via the WhatsApp application.
“We take seriously the information received regarding certain parties who promise job opportunities or interviews in exchange for specific fees or inducements.
“For the information of the public, all applications to fill vacant positions at STB must be submitted online via a Google Form link administered by STB.
“The screening and selection process is conducted based on the principles of meritocracy and qualifications in accordance with the prescribed service schemes,” it said.
STB stated that the application process does not involve any fees and that the matter is now being investigated by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
“In this regard, STB urges the public not to be easily deceived by any party offering such services and to immediately report to the PDRM should there be any doubts or suspected attempts at fraud.”
STB warned that legal action may be taken against individuals involved in fraudulent activities and clarified that they will not bear responsibility for any losses incurred. — DayakDaily
