SIBURAN, Sept 24: The Sarawak government is planning to establish an Integrated Administration Centre (IAC) in Siburan, aimed at streamlining public services by housing multiple government agencies under one roof for the convenience of the local community.
In a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, Deputy Minister for Transport (Aviation and Road) and Mambong assemblyman, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, said the initiative would enable residents to handle official matters more efficiently without the need to travel long distances.
“This facility reflects the government’s commitment to meeting the people’s needs. However, the success of such development depends on close cooperation between community leaders, residents, and the government,” he said.
Dr Jerip made the announcement during the annual prayer ceremony and cultural concert organised by the Oh Ni Toh Temple Supporters Association in Siburan on Monday (Sept 22).
He noted that the government has already invested in improving local amenities, including the construction of a new health clinic and the upgrading of sports facilities, to further enhance the quality of life in the area.
At the same time, Dr Jerip emphasised the importance of cultural celebrations in nurturing harmony and unity among Siburan’s diverse population.
“These events not only preserve traditions but also serve as bridges of unity, bringing together the Chinese, Malay, Iban, Bidayuh, and others in the spirit of togetherness,” he said, adding that the increasingly vibrant festive atmosphere each year reflects the positive growth and progress of the community. — DayakDaily
