KUCHING, Feb 27: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg wants Sarawak to be able to generate an income of RM15 billion by 2025.

According to a TVS report, Abang Johari said cooperation with the State Financial Secretary as a team is needed to achieve the aim through goals and new ideas.

“To achieve that target, I expect we will all have to work even harder in the future.

“I don’t know if we can achieve that target or not, but time will tell,” he said.

He said this at the closing ceremony of the Team Building Programme of the Sarawak State Financial Secretary’s Office here, yesterday (Feb 26).

In the meantime, Abang Johari also disclosed that there are three important factors in financial management, namely, usage, investment and savings.

“If only one mistake is made from these factors, then it may disrupt our cash flow.

“If we really take care of these three components, we will not go bankrupt, Alhamdulillah, so far, we have achieved state income of RM11.9 billion,” he explained.

Previously, Abang Johari said, Sarawak recorded an income of RM11.9 billion for the 2022 financial year thus surpassing the projected RM10.2 billion targeted. — DayakDaily
