Sarawak secures 2 silver, 1 bronze in Silambam at Sukma 2024

KUCHING, Aug 22: Sarawak bagged two silver and one bronze medal in the Silambam event at Sukma 2024.

According to a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Asyraf Aqil earned the first silver medal after a close match against Selangor’s Luthrabalan Parsuraman, finishing with a score of 27-16 in the 55kg Poruthal category.

In the 70kg category, Hani Qurratuain also claimed silver after being defeated by Ranishaa Vasanta, another athlete from Selangor, with a score of 23-11.

The bronze medal was won by Nur Aleesya Zahierah, who fought hard and narrowly overcame her opponent, Shangeeta Baskaran from Pulau Pinang, with a final score of 30-28. — DayakDaily
