KUCHING, Oct 22: Sarawak reported one positive Covid-19 case in Kuching today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the 770th case is a local senior citizen with a history of diabetes, high blood pressure and abnormal blood lipid content (dyslipidemia).

ā€œThe case is a close contact to another patient who was positive Covid-19. The case index came from the 768th patient which was detected on Oct 18 from symptom screening.

ā€œDuring the screening test on Oct 18, the case went for rT-PCR test screening and the result on Oct 19 came out as negative. However, the case did informed of having fever and cough since Oct 14. The case then when to Sarawak General Hospital for treatment on Oct 21. Upon admission, this case was taken for another rT-PCR test and the result came in positive today,ā€ the statement disclosed.

Screening tests using the Rapid Test Kit (RTK) Antibody also found the case reactive for IgG and IgM.

Tracking activities for close contact to this case and further investigations are on going.

Meanwhile no new clusters were reported today while the remaining active clusters in Sarawak are Bah Arnab Cluster in Kuching (12 cases) and Putra Cluster in Bintulu (six cases).

Sarawak recorded nine recoveries today and they were all discharged from Sarawak General Hospital bringing the total tally of recoveries cases in Sarawak to 718.

Currently, 33 cases were being being treated at isolation in Sarawak General Hospital (19), Miri Hospital (7) and Bintulu Hospital (7).

No death or intensive care unit (ICU) cases were reported today while Kuching, Bintulu and Lubok Antu districts status remains at yellow. ā€”DayakDaily
