Sarawak records zero Covid-19 cases, Alam cluster remains active

KUCHING, Sept 5: State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) disclosed that zero new cases of Covid-19 are reported in Sarawak today.

SDMC in a press statement today, said the Alam cluster in Bintulu remains active with eight cases of Covid-19.

“No recovery and discharged cases are recorded in the hospital today and a total of 12 individuals are still receiving treatment in hospital isolation ward, namely in Bintulu hospital (seven cases), Sarawak General Hospital (four), and Miri hospital (one).


‘The total cumulative number of recovery and discharged cases remained at 688 cases (95.57 per cent).

“The death toll also remained at 19 cases (2.72 per cent), and only 21 new Person Under Investigation (PUI) are reported, with four of them still awaiting laboratory test results,” it said.

Meanwhile, SDMC also noted that a total of three compound notices had been issued by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), one each in Serian, Betong and Sarikei.

It added, PDRM would continue to tighten the standard operating procedure (SOP) enforcement, including the usage of face masks in public places. –DayakDaily.
