Sarawak records 475 new cases today, Kuching and Miri account for over half

KUCHING, Feb 27: Kuching and Miri accounted for over half of the 475 new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak today.

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) reports, Kuching registered 181 cases, and Miri registered 105 cases.


Districts that recorded two-digit caseloads were Sibu (86), Bintulu (20), Kapit (16), and Limbang (10).

Other districts with new infections included Samarahan (9), Sarikei (7), Kanowit (7), Lawas (6), Serian (5), Song (4), Lundu (3), Mukah (2), Bau (2), Subis (2), Saratok (2), and Meradong (2).

Meanwile, Pakan, Julau, Matu, Dalat, Telang Usan, and Belaga reported one case each.

In terms of clinical categories, there were 248 cases in Category 1, 224 in Category 2, and one each in Categories 3 to 5.

As of this day, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases across Sarawak stands at 259,370.
