Sarawak records 14 new Covid-19 cases in 9 districts

KUCHING, Jan 20: Sarawak recorded 14 new Covid-19 cases in nine districts today.

With no Covid-19 fatalities reported, this thus pushed the State’s overall Covid-19 tally so far to 252,660 while the overall death toll is unchanged at 1,620.

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) updates on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak today, Sibu reported three cases while Kapit, Kuching and Miri recorded two cases each.

Song, Sarikei, Samarahan, Bau and Limbang had one case each.

Of the new cases, six were under Category 1 with no symptoms and eight under Category 2 with mild symptoms.

Currently, there are no active clusters in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, the police issued seven compounds in Kuching in the most recent 24-hour period for various violations of standard operating procedures (SOP).

Four compounds were issued for failure to scan QR Code on MySejahtera or record attendance prior to entering a premises, and three more for not wearing face masks. — DayakDaily
