Sarawak records 12 critical cases among 171 new Covid-19 infections

KUCHING, Nov 25: Twelve out of 171 new Covid-19 cases reported in Sarawak today were classified as critical.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, four patients in Category 5 are intubated, four patients in Category 4 require breathing assistance, while three others in Category 3 have pneumonia.

A total of 106 patients with mild symptoms were in Category 2, and there were also 53 asymptomatic patients in Category 1.


This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the State to 250,085.

By district, Kuching reported the most new cases at 66, followed by Lawas with 19 cases, Miri (17), Limbang (15), Bintulu (12) and Sibu (12).

Other districts which saw new cases are Samarahan (5), Sri Aman (3), Matu (3), Betong (2), Bau (2), Mukah (2), and one case each for Serian, Lundu, Sarikei, Kapit, Tatau, Beluru, Kabong, Pakan, Bukit Mabong, Dalat, Sebauh, Simunjan, Belaga and Telang Usan,

Fourteen districts namely Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Tebedu, Song, Subis, Meradong, Daro, Tanjung Manis, Asajaya, Pusa, Lubok Antu, Marudi and Julau reported zero new cases.

SDMC also announced the end of two clusters, namely the Jalan Demak Indah Cluster and Jalan Perimeter Airport Cluster, both in Kuching, after zero new cases were reported in the past 28 days.
