Sarawak records 11 Covid-19 deaths including one BID case between Oct 21 and 28

KUCHING, Oct 29: Sarawak confirmed 11 Covid-19 fatalities including one brought-in-dead (BID) case in Sarikei between Oct 21 and 28.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily updates on Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, reported that the BID case in Sarikei involved an 85-year-old woman with morbidities of hypertension, asthma and heart disease.

She passed away on Oct 21 and her body was transferred to the Sarikei Hospital.


On Oct 29, six Covid-19 deaths were recorded with three cases in Kuching, two cases in Miri and one case in Sarikei.

In Kuching, Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) confirmed the deaths of three women aged 73, 75 and 91.

Miri Hospital confirmed two deaths with both deceased being men aged 72 and 78, while Sarikei Hospital reported one death involving a 68-year-old man.

On Oct 28, four deaths were reported with two in Miri Hospital involving a man and a woman in their early 70s; one in Limbang Hospital involving a 56-year-old woman and one in Saratok Hospital involving a 69-year-old from Betong.

All the victims have multiple morbidities including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, chronic lung disease and asthma.— DayakDaily
