KUCHING, Dec 8: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari and his delegation arrived safely in the United Kingdom (UK) on Thursday night (Dec 7) for a two-day work visit.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Abang Johari and his deputy Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, together with Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, arrived at The Park Tower Knightsbridge Hotel at 8.30pm local time.
They were accompanied by Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry, and Investment Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, and Sarawak government officials.
Today (Dec 8), Abang Johari will lead the Sarawak government delegation in the MINTRED Connects@London 2023 program held in Hyatt Regency The Churchill at 10am local time.
The programme aims to establish relationships and networks of collaboration between entrepreneurs from Sarawak with potential partners and investors from around the world.
After that, Abang Johari is expected to attend a meeting with British Petroleum in the afternoon, followed by another meeting with Hambro Perks.
British Petroleum is a British multinational oil and gas company based in London. At the same time, Hambro Perks is a company that focuses on technology-enabled businesses, with its primary business operations in the UK.
On Dec 9 (Saturday), Abang Johari is expected to meet with the Malaysian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom as well as officials from the Malaysian Foreign Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA). — DayakDaily
