KUCHING, Jan 5: State Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Women wing has set in motion the groundwork for the next state election, which is due in 2021.

A convention will be held next month as part of the grand plan to ensure a victorious outing, said its chief, Nurhanim Hanna Mokhsen.

“Today is our first meeting for the year to discuss and plan not just for the state polls and convention but also our next steps to move forward, be progressive and dynamic for the wing for the next three years,” she told a press conference here today.

Nurhanim also announced the appointment of exco and divisional Women chiefs for the 2018-2021 term.

“With these appointments, I believe our wing will be stronger in facing the 12th state election. It will be a starting point towards championing the women’s institution in the state. I urge all of them from all levels and careers to jointly contribute their energy, ideas and move together as a team to empower women.

“As the largest party in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, we will continue to be at the forefront to fight for women’s agenda. PKR has a significant responsibility in spearheading PH,” she emphasised.

Nurhanim also advised all party members to shun immature and fragile political practices and contribute towards nation building instead.

Nurhanim was recently re-appointed Sarawak PKR Women chief for the 2018-2021 term. This is her third time at the helm. — DayakDaily
