KUCHING, Nov 17: Sarawak Centre of Performance Excellence Sdn Bhd (SCOPE) and Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (PERKESO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand the Graduates Enhancement Training, Work Readiness Programme (GETS WRP) on PERKESO’s MYFutureJobs online platform.
“Through this collaboration with the PERKESO, the GETS-WRP initiative and MYFutureJobs platform, which is under the PERKESO, we aim to create a seamless pathway that connects training, talent and employment,” SCOPE chief executive officer Joseph Lim said in his opening address at the MoU signing ceremony.
“By integrating MYFutureJobs into GETS-WRP ecosystem, we can ensure better visibility for Sarawakian talents and likewise help employers looking for potential workers and access to a pool of job-ready graduates who have undergone structured workplace readiness training,” he added.
Lim said the MoU reflects a shared vision to empower graduates with the skills, exposure and opportunities they need to succeed in an evolving job market.
“This partnership will enable both PERKESO and SCOPE to enhance job placement and career matching for the GETS-WRP participants. Likewise, it will strengthen industry collaboration and job market intelligence, knowing what industry needs, what sort of people, and support the PCDS, the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy of Sarawak, in building a competitive, inclusive, and skilled Sarawakian workforce,” Lim emphasised.
Meanwhile, PERKESO Sarawak director Tan Phang Chia commented, “PERKESO, as a provider of national employment service, we are committed to help our graduates, our researchers, to ensure that every graduates can get a job.”
He added, “The implementation of the MOU does not only strengthen the strategic relationship between SCOPE and PERKESO, but also provides great benefits to the participants in the GETS-WRP programme through various initiatives provided by the MYFutureJobs platform. This cooperation can contribute to the development of jobs, science and inclusion, and contribute to the economic and social development of Sarawak.”
The collaboration outlines several areas of cooperation, including improving job matching for graduates through MyFutureJobs, supporting upskilling and reskilling initiatives under GETS WRP, and enhancing employment enablement services across Sarawak.
GETS WRP is a Sarawak Government initiative aimed at providing young graduates with job opportunities, industry exposure and employability skills. SCOPE has been administering the programme since 2017. – DayakDaily
