KUCHING, Sept 1: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg took the time to attend the Pahang Heritage Festival at the Tunku Azizah Royal Craft Village in Pekan today.
According to TVS, Abang Johari, accompanied by his daughter, Dayang Norjihan, visited the Rumah Serambi Pahang to observe the uniqueness of the state’s traditional Malay house before heading to the Balai Pameran Tengku Ampuan I to view the collection of Tengku Ampuan.
After that, he toured the Sarawak Pavilion, which showcased handicrafts and cultural heritage from the Land of the Hornbills.
He also took the opportunity to visit the Pahang Arts and Crafts Exhibition, as well as exclusive art exhibitions from several countries, including Laos, Singapore, Indonesia, and Türkiye.
The Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, also graced the event.
The event serves as a platform to strengthen ties between Sarawak and Pahang, particularly in efforts to enhance and preserve the cultural heritage and sustainability of their respective regions.
Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka, Tun Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam; Sarawak’s Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; and the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and Federal-State Relations), Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, were also present. — DayakDaily
