“We look forward to collaborating with the association, especially as Sarawak Metro is always prioritising on safety,” Mazli told the members.

He also noted that the company aims to work closely with petrol station operators located along the KUTS alignment, stressing the importance of stakeholder engagement during the crucial construction phase.

“We always welcome feedback from all our stakeholders, especially during this phase of our project as our construction works become more intense in the coming months.

“Aside from ensuring the safety of the public and our workers during this construction phase, we are also focused on reducing the disruptions caused by the works, particularly in terms of traffic management near our construction sites,” he said.

Laura meanwhile conveyed her members’ request for timely notifications whenever construction works are carried out near their stations to enable them to prepare accordingly.

She also emphasised the association’s support for the government’s project aimed at enhancing Kuching city’s socio-economic landscape, while requesting more regular engagement with Sarawak Metro. — DayakDaily
