Sarawak logs 18 new Covid-19 cases, 3 critical

KUCHING, Jan 13: Sarawak registered 18 new Covid-19 cases today, raising the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the State to 252,568.

According to a State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) report, three out of the 18 cases were critical (Category 3, 4 and 5) while the balance of 15 cases were less severe (Category 1 and 2).

One case was listed as a Category 5 patient on ventilator support while two cases were classified as Category 4 patients requiring breathing aid.


There were also 12 cases with mild symptoms and three cases of asymptomatic Covid-19 patients.

Ten districts across Sarawak reported new cases, led by Lawas with four cases, and Sibu with three cases.

Kuching, Miri and Song reported two cases each.

Limbang, Serian, Sri Aman, Kapit and Sarikei reported one case each respectively.
