Sarawak, Kelantan to move to Phase 4 of NRP on Jan 3

KUCHING, Dec 31: Sarawak and Kelantan will move into Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) beginning Jan 3.

In a press statement, Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said that the Federal government has agreed for Sarawak and Kelantan to move to NRP Phase 4 following the current risk assessment conducted by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Security Council (NSC).

“With the phase transition for the two States, it means that all States in Malaysia have moved into Phase Four or NRP.

“However, I urge people not to feel too comfortable as Covid-19 remains a threat to our safety and health, especially with the spread of the Omicron variant,” he reminded.

Hishammuddin strongly advised the public to continue adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP), especially to put on a face mask and keep a safe distance from others when out in public places.

“Get the booster shots if eligible, perform regular self-tests for Covid-19, and practice TRIIS (Test, Report, Isolate, Inform, Seek) as best you can,” he urged.

Hishammuddin also expressed his deepest appreciation and congratulations to all parties, especially the State governments, who have been working hard to manage the pandemic situation in their respective States, especially to meet the threshold value set under NRP.

The NSC will update the latest SOP for NRP Phase Four on the official website at www.mkn.gov.my.

“On this occasion, too, I would like to wish a Happy New Year 2022 to all Malaysians. The year 2021 was full of tests and challenges but thank God we have been able to go through it together.

“Let us pray that 2022 will be a more meaningful year for all of us, our families, and our country,” he said in extending his New Year wishes to Malaysians. — DayakDaily
