SANGGAU, Jan 29: The cross-border road connecting Sarawak and Indonesia’s Kalimantan via the Entikong Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and Security (ICQS) Complex has been temporarily cut off due to flooding in Beduai District, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan.

The flood, which submerged the area today, affected Jering Beroak village, making the road impassable, Pontianak Post reported.

“The Malindo (Malaysia-Indonesia) cross-border road in Beduai District is flooded due to overflowing rivers.

The water level has reached knee height,” said Sanggau Police Traffic Unit Chief, AKP Risqi Ardian Eka Kurniawan.

As a result, traffic flow between Entikong ICQS and Sanggau has been completely disrupted.

Some residents attempting to cross the area resorted to using rafts to navigate the floodwaters.

“We advise the public to postpone travel to Entikong ICQS until the water recedes,” Risqi added. — DayakDaily
