KUCHING, Aug 2: The number of Covid-19-free districts in the State has climbed to six while the number of districts classified as red zones has decreased to 17 compared to last week.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, said the six Covid-19-free districts with green status are Lubok Antu, Matu, Julau, Marudi, Sebauh and Limbang.
“As of today, the 17 districts with the red status are Kabong, Asajaya, Subis, Dalat, Mukah, Simunjan, Tatau, Lundu, Saratok, Bau, Medaong, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu, while seven districts namely Sarikei, Tebedu, Pakan, Beluru, Betong, Kapit and Telang Usan, also maintained their orange zone status.
“The number of districts with yellow status also remained unchanged today, with Lawas, Daro, Bukit Mabong, Selangau, Tanjung Manis, Song, Sri Aman, Kanowit, Pusa, including Belaga, reporting zero new cases, recently,” it said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, SDMC also announced the end of three clusters, comprising the Gerigat Cluster in Kabong, Quadruplex Lapan Enam Cluster in Miri, and Jalan Samarian Cluster in Kuching.
The committee said zero new clusters were reported today, with only 96 new cases recorded from seven active clusters.
“The seven active clusters are the Bunga Rampai Cluster (87), Jalan Persisir Bintulu-Miri Cluster (2), Sungai Sangan Cluster (2), Kandis Pantu Cluster (2), Kampung Git Cluster (1), Kampung Kendaie Cluster (1), and Simpang Koko Cluster (1),” the committee added. — DayakDaily
