Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah disclosed that among the clusters identified in the country with increase in cases included the healthcare workers cluster in Kuching with 10 cases, bringing the total to 50 cases.
“While the Kuching conference cluster added another seven cases, taking the total to 146 cases and one additional case linked to Family RK (Italy) cluster, totalling 60 cases,” he told a daily press conference on Covid-19 in Putrajaya today.
He also informed that investigations were still ongoing for the three major clusters in Kuching namely the RK Family (Italy), church conference and healthcare workers.
“We are still identifying the measures to break the chain of transmission. But surely, active case detection or contact tracing must be enhanced to identify the close contacts or persons-under-investigation (PUI).
“We hope to improve on our investigation strategies to identify those who have yet to be traced including those who have been exposed but yet to be traced,” he said, adding that positive and active actions will be enhanced from time to time. —DayakDaily
