KUCHING, Sept 14: The Sarawak government is moving decisively to resolve land and technical issues affecting the Phase 2 of Ulu Pandan Road Project in Bintulu, says Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
Uggah, who is also Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development (MIPD), stressed that immediate action is key to preventing delays and ensuring smooth progress.
The project includes an 8km main road (JKR R3), a 6km branch road (JKR R1) and the rehabilitation of 11km of the existing road from Sungai Tissay Bridge to Sungai Kelabat Bridge.
Two new reinforced concrete bridges are also under construction: the 60m Sungai Sebauh Bridge and the 30m Sungai Genaan Bridge.
“As of now, the project has achieved 67.48 per cent physical progress,” he said in a statement issued by Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) today.
Before inspecting the project site, Datuk Amar also visited flood-hit Ulu Sebauh Road, showing his commitment to rural infrastructure that directly impacts the daily lives of local communities. – DayakDaily
