“Out of the RM12 million budget, RM5 million is allocated for smart classrooms in Chinese primary schools.

“The Sarawak United Association of Chinese-Aided Primary School Board of Management will manage the installation for schools that submit applications and pass the evaluation process,” he said during the handover ceremony of the Sarawak government’s allocation for providing smart classroom equipment and electronic Mathematics and Science reference materials for Sarawak-aided chinese primary schools at the meeting room of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Chung Hua No.3 today.

Dr Sim clarified that each school will receive either a 75-inch or 86-inch smart TV, depending on the size of the classroom.

“Smart classrooms help teachers prepare lessons systematically, improve teaching quality, and enhance student learning,” he added.

The classrooms are spread across the state as follows:

  1. Kuching, Samarahan, Serian – 166
  2. Sri Aman, Betong – 46
  3. Sibu, Mukah, Kapit – 68
  4. Bintulu – 32
  5. Miri, Limbang – 38
  6. Sarikei – 23

Dr Sim noted that the smart TVs come with a five-year warranty, and the Sarawak government intends to continue funding future replacements and maintenance.
