Sarawak Governor’s wife hopes for stronger bilateral ties with Turkey

KUCHING, March 15: The Sarawak Governor’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib was invited for a luncheon by Her Excellency, Dr Merve Safa Kavakci, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Malaysia, at Her Excellency’s residence in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

In a statement issued by Astana Negeri Sarawak, during the two-hour meeting, Toh Puan Raghad and Dr Merve exchanged views on a variety of current issues, including education, culture, charity, and tourism promotion.

Toh Puan Raghad said she hoped that the visit will strengthen and commemorate the close friendship and bilateral ties between Sarawak and the Republic of Turkey.


Also present at the luncheon were Her Excellency’s mother Profesor Dr Gulseren Gulhan Kavakci, Toh Puan Raghad’s mother, Madam Janbakli Hiam Ahmad, the Turkish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur’s Commercial Counsellor, Elif Haliloglu Gungunes, and Tourism & Cultural Affairs Counsellor, Begum Sahin. — DayakDaily
