KUCHING, Sept 16: Sarawak Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud has landed safely in Kuching late afternoon today and will resume his duty tomorrow.

He was recuperating in Istanbul, Turkey, following an operation.

Taib’s condition in Turkey was made public during the case management in the Kuching High Court recently in the civil suit which Taib’s sons, Dato Sri Abdul Rahman Taib and Dato Sri Mahmud Abu Bekir Taib, brought against their stepmother Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib.

Taib has been away since June this year. During his absence, Speaker Tan Sri Mohammad Asfia Awang Nasar was appointed the Acting Head of State on August 16 for one month.

His term will expire tomorrow (Sept 17). — DayakDaily
