KUCHING, Apr 11: The state government will evaluate and review the selected business sectors which are allowed to operate during the extended movement control order (MCO) period until April 28.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah emphasised that Sarawak has the liberty to decide which business sectors are allowed to operate during the extended MCO.
“We take note of the latest instructions from the federal government with regards to the gradual opening up of selected business sectors in phases during the extended MCO,” he said, adding that earlier the Sarawak government had announced contractors and companies which supply and perform repairs of water and electricity services were allowed to operate.
“Nonetheless, the state government will evaluate the list and will make a final decision based on the needs in Sarawak,” he said during a press conference at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin told a press conference that the federal government has agreed to allow selected economic sectors to resume operations during the extended MCO. —DayakDaily
