KUCHING, May 28: The Sarawak government will consider the proposal to establish the Coastal Area Development Agency (CADA) to oversee the development of coastal areas, says Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

ā€œI will discuss with other parties on this matter for the people of Belawai, including those in Kabong,ā€ he said when attending the Majlis Melanggar Raya Samah in Belawai today.

Earlier, during his speech, Kuala Rajang assemblyman Datuk Len Talif Salleh requested the establishment of a development agency for the coastal areas.

ā€œFor the people of the coastal areas, especially from Maludam, Kabong and up to Balingian, there is no specific authority to develop the area.

ā€œThus, we hope that Coastal Area Development Agency or CADA can be established to specify the development projects for these areas,ā€ he said. ā€” DayakDaily
