KUCHING, Nov 21: Sarawak Energy is urging customers to be cautious when receiving telephone calls related to their electricity bills. Customers are also reminded not to allow unauthorised individuals or parties to deduct payment from their bank accounts.

In a press statement today, the power utility company said it has received reports of callers pretending to be Sarawak Energy staff threatening disconnection of supply if immediate payment on outstanding bills was not made. Some calls were made to individuals who do not have accounts with Sarawak Energy.

“Sarawak Energy would like to remind customers to only make payment through authorised payment channels such as SESCO payment kiosks, customer service counters, SEBcares mobile app, autopay, Pos Malaysia and at the local council counters,” Sarawak Energy said.
