SIBU, Feb 9: Sarawak Energy, through its operations and retail arm Syarikat Sesco Sdn Bhd (Sesco), is undertaking relocation works for a tilted monopole along the 132kV Oya-Salim transmission line to ensure continued power reliability.

According to a media release, the monopole, located along Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce, was observed to be tilted during a recent inspection, likely due to third-party clearing and earthworks that compromised its foundation.

To prevent risks to the transmission system, Sarawak Energy has scheduled relocation works, if weather permits, in two phases as follows:

  • February 10-19: Piling works for a new foundation.
  • March 4-7: Monopole relocation and conductor transfer.

“There will be no scheduled shutdowns during the process and contingency plans are in place to minimise potential disruptions.

“Sarawak Energy appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation as it carries out this critical relocation work to maintain a stable and reliable electricity supply,” said the media release. — DayakDaily
