KUCHING, Oct 25: Sarawak Energy’s subsidiaries, SEB Power Sdn Bhd and Syarikat SESCO Bhd, won five awards at the Asian Power Awards 2024 held in Singapore on Oct 22.
According to Sarawak Energy, in a statement today, the recognition highlights Sarawak Energy’s ongoing efforts to deliver innovative, sustainable energy solutions and advance its digitalisation agenda in Malaysia’s power generation sector.
The awards received were Power Utility of the Year — Malaysia; Innovative Power Technology of the Year — Malaysia; Power Plant Upgrade of the Year — Malaysia; Smart Grid Project of the Year — Malaysia; and Hydro Power Project of the Year — Bronze.
Sarawak Energy Group chief executive officer Datuk Haji Sharbini Suhaili said the awards reaffirmed the Company’s vision of achieving sustainable growth and prosperity for the region by meeting the demand for reliable and renewable energy.
“These recognitions we have received reflect our commitment to becoming a regional renewable energy powerhouse and sustainable digital utility, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sarawak Energy’s industry peer, PT PLN Indonesia Power, has also received honours across four categories, namely the Wind Power Project of the Year — Indonesia, Environmental Upgrade of the Year — Indonesia, Biomass Power Project of the Year — Bronze, and Green Hydrogen Power Project of the Year — Silver.
At the event, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) also bagged two wins in the Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2024, receiving titles in the Digital Transformation Initiative of the Year — Malaysia and ESG Initiative of the Year — Malaysia categories. — DayakDaily
