Sarawak diving squad dominates with 2 more golds, 1 silver at Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre

KUCHING, Aug 22: The Sarawak diving squad continued their stellar performance by adding two more gold medals and one silver at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre in Petra Jaya today.

The victories came from the men’s 10-metre platform and the women’s synchronised 3-metre springboard events.

In the men’s 10-metre platform, Enrique Maccartney Harold secured the gold with an impressive score of 409.10, while his teammate, Elvis Priestley Clement, claimed silver with a score of 390.25. The bronze medal went to Sabah’s Muhammad Anilrian Normatr Abdullah, who scored 330.40.

The women’s synchronised 3-metre springboard event saw Sarawak’s dynamic duo, Dayang Nursharzya Awang Nasaruddin and Nur Elisha Rania Muhammad Abrar Raj, took the gold with a total of 212.58 points.

They edged out Federal Territory’s Celeste Lee Qin and Ong Jia Le, who scored 205.44 for the silver, while Perak’s Cecelia Olivia Christopher Leoneil and Siti Nurul Jannah Malik took bronze with 190.35 points.

These victories bring Sarawak’s total medal count in diving to an impressive 11 medals: eight golds, two silvers, and one bronze.

The earlier gold medals were won by Elvis in the men’s 3-metre springboard; Nur Elisha Rania Muhammad Abrar Raj and Nurul Farisya Alia Affendi in the women’s synchronised 10-metre platform; Awang Sharzan Nazrin Awang Nasaruddin in the mixed synchronised 3-metre springboard; Dayang Nursharzya in the women’s 1-metre springboard; Elvis and Enrique in the men’s synchronised 10-metre platform; and Nurul Farisya in the women’s 10-metre platform.

The silver medals were contributed by Muhammad Lutfir Rahman Mohammad Razak in the men’s 1-metre springboard and Elvis in the men’s 10-metre platform.
