KUCHING, May 19: The Sarawak Delta Geopark Package Volume 2 has generated RM2.38 million in sales until the first quarter of 2026 since its launch in November 2025.
According to Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, his ministry is capitalising on the Sarawak Delta Unesco Global Geopark recognition to place the State on the global map as a sustainable tourism destination.
“Moving forward, the ministry is developing various tourism packages riding on the Sarawak Delta Unesco Global Geopark,” he said in his ministerial winding-up speech at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) sitting today.
In addition, he said that the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB), in collaboration with its counterpart in Sabah, have launched the ‘Exploring the Wonders of Malaysia Borneo Geoparks’ initiative at the World Travel Market London in November 2025.
“Sarawak continues to capitalise on its strength in eco-tourism with the focus on local community participation,” he said.
According to information obtained from Tourism Malaysia’s website, the Sarawak Delta Geopark Package Volume 2 comprises 42 thematic packages curated by 13 tour operators from Sarawak. — DayakDaily
