The team found an unclaimed package containing 6,360 ecstasy pills weighing 1,908 grammes.

He said the drugs were confirmed to be listed under Part I, First Schedule of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and the case is being investigated under Section 39B(1) of the same Act.

According to Norizan, the syndicate is believed to have used land courier services with falsified recipient details in an attempt to evade detection by authorities.

He stressed that JKDM remains committed to strengthening the enforcement of customs laws and called on the public to provide information on the smuggling of drugs, cigarettes, liquor, firecrackers and vehicles.

Smuggling activities, he added, not only rob the country of revenue but also pose a threat to national and public security. — DayakDaily
