Sarawak’s Covid-19 cases down to 351, cumulative infections nearing 300,000

KUCHING, April 3: As Sarawak records another 351 new Covid-19 cases today, the cumulative number increased to 299,936, just 64 cases away from the 300,000 mark.

Among the 351 cases, Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said five were in the serious categories.


There were 147 cases in Category 1, 199 in Category 2, three in Category 3, and two in Category 5.

In terms of districts, Kuching still recorded the most cases at 117.

Those with double-digit case numbers were Miri (50), Sibu (44), Bintulu (34), Sarikei (13), Limbang (13), Serian (10), and Samarahan (10).

Other districts with new infections included Mukah (7), Lundu (6), Sri Aman, Simunjan, Marudi, Kabong, Subis (4 each), Betong, Saratok, Dalat (3 each), Kapit, Daro, Pusa, Belaga, Bau, Song (2 each), Pakan, Tanjung Manis, Lubok Antu, Tatau, Sebauh, and Beluru (1 each).

Meanwhile, one new Covid-19 death was reported today involving a 65-year-old female from Kuching who had hypertension, dyslipidemia, and cancer.

No new clusters were reported today, with seven active clusters remaining in the State. — DayakDaily
