Sarawak Covid-19 cases back to zero today

KUCHING, Aug 10: Sarawak today reported zero new positive Covid-19 cases, bringing the total cases to remain at 681 so far.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas revealed this today, adding that four patients have recovered and discharged from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).


“Three were from Kuching and another one from Serian,” he said during a press conference on the state’s Covid-19 updates.

Meanwhile, he pointed out six individuals were still receiving treatment in the isolation wards and the number of fatality remains at 19.

“The number of patients in the ICU (intensive care unit) is zero, and the number of individuals under respiratory assistance is also zero,” he added.

On a related issue, he noted a total of 34 new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases and one case still awaiting laboratory test results.

With no new positive cases today, the 10 active clusters in Sarawak remain with no newly added cases.

Uggah, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, added that there were 93 person-under-surveillance (PUS) who were registered into various hotels across Sarawak to be quarantined.

There are currently 928 individuals under quarantine in 16 hotels throughout Sarawak while 20,744 PUS have completed their 14-day quarantine. —DayakDaily
