Sarawak Covid-19 case number remains over 400, mild categories account for 415 cases

KUCHING, Feb 23: The number of new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak continues to stay above the 400-mark with 424 cases today.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said there were 415 mild cases and nine serious cases, comprising 219 Category 1’s, 196 Category 2’s, five Category 3’s, two each of Category 4’s and 5’s.


District-wise, Kuching reported the highest number of 142 cases, followed by Sibu with 90 cases, Miri 72, Kapit 25, Bintulu 24, Limbang 16, and Sarikei 10 cases.

Other districts with new infections were Lawas (9), Samarahan (5), Betong (4), Subis (4), Pakan (3), Song (3), Serian (2), Matu (2), Bukit Mabong (2), Kanowit (2), and Marudi (2).

Meanwhile, Tanjung Manis, Julau, Bau, Asajaya, Sebauh, Daro, and Belaga recorded one new case each.

The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases across Sarawak now stands at 257,536.

No new Covid-19 deaths or clusters were reported today. There are currently two active clusters in the whole of Sarawak. — Dayakdaily
