Sarawak Covid-19 case count balloons to 1,357 today, 4 districts registering triple digit caseloads

KUCHING, March 2: The number of new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak has swelled to 1,357 today with four districts registering triple digit caseloads.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), Kuching recorded 436 cases while Miri, Sibu, and Bintulu took up 270, 194, and 105 cases respectively.


Those reporting two-digit case numbers were Limbang (45), Serian (42), Bau (34), Sri Aman (33), Sarikei (32), Samarahan (23), Kapit (18), Saratok (15), Meradong (14), Belaga (12), Tanjung Manis (10), and Kanowit (10).

Other districts with new infections were Mukah, Betong, Simunjan, Dalat (6 cases each), Lawas (5 cases), Marudi, Asajaya, Julau, Matu (4 cases each), Lubok Antu, Subis (3 cases each), Lundu, Kabong, Song, Pakan (2 cases each), Pusa, Sebauh, Telang Usan, Bukit Mabong, and Beluru (1 case each).

The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak now stands at 262,417.

Meanwhile, there was a new brought-in-dead (BID) case in Kapit which happened on Feb 27, involving a 79-year-old man with comorbidities.
