KUCHING, April 11: Sarawak Bumiputera Amateur Golf Association wishes to build a junior golf academy in Sarawak.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the association’s president Irwan Zulkarnain Muhammad Hasbie said the academy would teach teenagers and school students golf sports.
“We have yet to review it with the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg but he has expressed support for the proposal,” he told reporters after paying a courtesy call on the Premier at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
Irwan Zulkarnain further said the association would work together with the Office of Premier of Sarawak (OPS) and relevant agencies to realise the construction of the academy.
He also said the courtesy call was an opportunity for the association to introduce its committee for the 2021-2023 term.
The meeting with the Premier also saw deliberation on programmes organised by the association.
Also present were the association’s deputy president Zuraimy Kushaili, secretary Yakop Jalel and treasurer Yussuf Drahman. — DayakDaily
