Sarawak Budget 2023 passed unanimously in DUN today

KUCHING, Dec 1: The Supply (2023) Bill, 2022, or also known as the State 2023 Budget, has been passed unanimously in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today.

The Bill was tabled by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Nov 21, the first day of this eight-day DUN session.

The 2023 Budget is estimated to spend RM10.797 billion and collect revenue of RM11.035 billion, generating a surplus of RM238 million.

Of the total expenditure, RM3.997 billion is allocated for operating expenditure while a sum of RM7.506 billion is set aside for development expenditure with RM4.54 billion for rural development. — DayakDaily
