SAR launched to locate missing 11-year-old boy

BINTULU, Nov 6: An 11-year-old boy was reported missing today after leaving his house and entered the jungle behind Rh Galin, Batu 8 at Jalan Bintulu-Miri.

Fire and Rescue (Bomba) Bintulu fire station chief, Christus Buson, said the boy, Stanley Seli, was last seen by his mother at 7am yesterday.

Bomba received the emergency call at 2.19pm today.

“A search and rescue operation consisting firefighters, police and civil defence was immediately launched,” Christus said.

According to him, the authorities were told that the boy had walked towards the back of the longhouse and entered the jungle. He was last seen wearing a blue singlet and grey shorts.

Yesterday, the boy’s parents and villagers tried to look for him but were unsuccessful and this prompted the mother to lodge a missing person’s report today.

The SAR operation to find the boy is ongoing. Bomba has also dispatched their K9 unit to to assist in the operations. — DayakDaily
